Are URL Settings possible per portal?
Modified By Joe Maier on 8/9/2008 12:53:54 AM)

Hi,

i'm running several customer portals on one DNN installation and i'm looking for a SEO solution, allowing customers to define their own URLs easily.
I think URL Master does all i need.
I just want to verify before i buy, that the URL rules can be defined by the portal admins themselves, and only for their portal.
Is this possible?

Thanks,

Joe

Re: Are URL Settings possible per portal?

OK, i test-installed URL Master and see that portal-specific rules are possible. Great!

During testing out your examples there was one thing that i couldn't acchieve:

In your installation documentation section "Steps to create Custom Urls and Custom Redirects" you are showing an example where you replace Umlauts in the URL. The original page URL contained an umlaut and you defined a rule where the umlaut is replaced.

In your example screenshot the new url gets a "200 - OK" http action. I can get this to work without problems.

But in your example the original URLs get a "301 redirect". In my test-installation i cannot modify the original URL's http action. It's always "200 - OK".

Am i missing something?

Thanks,
Joe

I think the reason is probably that you don't have the 'redirect unfriendly Urls' option switched on.  This is what makes the 'old' Urls have a status of '301'.
