I have a customer who is translating their main DNN site I created to Japanese.  They recently sent in the following email:

"When we do Page Setting (when we translate Page Details such as Page Name, Page Title and Description), an address of the page is changed (translated). For example, when we implement Page Setting on the “Products” page, the address is changed from http://jpn.spray.com/product/tabid/36/Default.aspx to http://jpn.spray.com/製品/tabid/36/Default.aspx. According to the member, this change might be a problem with regard to SEO (Search Engine Optimization). This is because the page will not be searched on Yahoo Japan, Google Japan and the like, if the part of the address is Japanese (in this case, 製品(Japanese translation of product)."

I vaguely understand their question, but my question to you is, would the URL Master take care of this problem.  I had the free Friendly URL installed on their site but removed it because it was causing a whole set of different issues with creating pages and navigation.  It seems that the whole url needs to be in all Japanese or all English.

If, in fact, the URL master will help with this situation, can I apply 1 of my 5 domain licenses in the following manner:  The company has about 15 DNN sites that are being created in various languages.  Each site is a different DNN install.  The domain names will be, for example, www.spray.co.jp, www.spray.co.krwww.spray.co.mx etc.  Will 1 generated license fill that you create be able to be used on those installs?

Hi Doug

If the pages are just one straight DNN page for a particular product, then you can just create an english-language equivalent product name page to replace it.   This would be done by creating a new Url to use for the page, rather than creating a redirect.  This is achieved by add a new url on the 'Page Urls' screen, and setting the status of the new url to '200'.    I've never actually tried with Japanese, but there's no reason why it shouldn't work.

Onto the licence question : I really don't have a suitable licence to match 15 separate domains across 15 separate installs, for variations of the same domain name.  The only thing you could do was buy 3 5-domain licences, but I suspect that wouldn't suit.

Why don't you try out the module on the japanese domain, see if it solves your problem (I can issue a temp licence if needed) and if it looks like it is going to be useful, get in contact with me and we'll come up with a solution for your licensing with some custom pricing.
