1)We have some pages built on classic asp which we display inside dotnetnuke website using iFrame. Will the tag module pick keywords from this page as well?
You can tag the page, but the keywords are only from the tags you enter. This module does not automatically get keywords from anywhere.
2) There is a feature named ‘Optionally make each generated tag a keyword pointing to your portal search’ .
Say I have used a keyword ‘planet’ 100 times in my portal . In the tag module I have a setting for ‘high significance’ as 20 . So in the tag module ‘planet’ will be shown very prominently.
When the user clicks on the ‘planet’ word in the tag module, he/she should be taken to a search result page which will show links to all the pages which has this keyword in a descending order.
Whether the above feature will help me to achieve this?
The Tagger module doesn't use the search index of DNN to work. It has it's own tag list module that lists all tagged Urls that match a particular tag (just follow one of the tags on this site to see an example)
The search result feed is an option to enter the tags into the DNN search index, so that if you search for a word that you also used as a tag, the DNN search results will show the page as well. Note that this is totally separate to the tag clouds and tag list in the module.
3)Is there a way I can tag a keyword directly to a page?
All tags are linked directly to a page, but when clicking on a tag, you first go to the tag list, which then links directly to the page that was originally tagged.
4)Is there any functional difference between Standard & enterprise editions?
5)On the licensing aspects whether my understanding below is correct?
Standard : We can use this module in a single installation , but multiple times in the same portal
Enterprise : We can use this module in a multiple installations , multiple times in the diff portal
4 : All versions have the same functionality.
5: The licensing works per domain. A single domain licence allows you to use the module as many times as you like within the same domain name. It's not restricted to installations or even portals (as long as the other portals are child portals and use the same domain name) A 5 domain licence gives you the same thing, but lets you use the module unlimited times across 5 different domain names - these can be all different DNN installs or all in the same install. A host licence allows you to use the module as many times as you like on a single dnn installation - regardless of the number of domains in the installation.
I think the best idea would be for you to install the module, and download the instructions and have a read through them. You can request a free trial licence so that the licensing messages don't show up while you're evaluating the product.
