I said: "(initially Home a then renamed e.g. About company,..)"
By default is default page "Home"(in menu and also in Administration menu->Site Settings property Home Page is "Home")
RENAME page like following:
1.login as admin or host
2.navigate to Home page
3.click Settings in admin control panel in Page Functions section
4.change property "Page name" on something other
5.click update

So far I haven't been able to reproduce this problem, although I did find that a 301 redirect loop can be created if you update the site settings and then navigate to the home page-  this is because the page index doesn't get rebuilt on a change in site settings.  But that is a different error to the one you describe.  The problem at the moment remains outstanding, but perhaps the information you've provided will help to find a solution.

Has any progress been made on this issue?

I have the same problem, but it only seems to happen if I navigate to the page after the session has timed out. If it has to run through Application_Start, then the error happens. If I then navigate to a specific page and come back, then it works.

@porlandi - can you tell me what version DNN you're using, and what locales (languages) you have installed, and what language is the default?
