Not working on all portals

Hi I have 3 shared hosting accounts with the same provider, all are setup the same way and all have DNN installed.
The iFinity module has been installed on all 3 DNN installations (all are above ver 04.08.xx) and configured correctly on each portal but when I "check status" from the google analytics website all portals (5 in total) on one of the DNN installations says "Tracking Not Installed".

And yet 4 other portals spread across the other 2 DNN installations work fine and GA site is getting feedback from the code.

I have looked at the source from good and bad portals and they look the same?

As you would have guessed, the ones I need to track the most are the ones I cant get to work.

Re: Not working on all portals

Given that it works in a couple of locations and not the other, I would expect the problem is something like:
- Google taking it's time to update the 'collecting information' value (depends if this is a new account you have set up)

- Domain name mismatch between your Analytics account and the DNN portal

- Account number mismatch in your Google Analytics module settings

- Having the module instance not visible by 'all users', or having the module not visible on all pages of your site.

Remember to sign out of your site completely so you can check whether or not the tracking code is working properly, as the module can be affected by your user priveleges.

Re: Not working on all portals

Thanks for the reply Bruce, I have gone through your list of possible causes and discounted all of them :(

1. "- Google taking it's time to update the 'collecting information' value (depends if this is a new account you have set up)"
..it is an established account which I have just started to utilise.

2. "- Domain name mismatch between your Analytics account and the DNN portal"
..double checked and is correct, all names are a perfect match.

3. "- Account number mismatch in your Google Analytics module settings"
..double checked and is correct
4. "- Having the module instance not visible by 'all users', or having the module not visible on all pages of your site."
..double checked and is correct, all IFinity modules were set up exactly the same accross all portals.

5. "Remember to sign out of your site completely so you can check whether or not the tracking code is working properly, as the module can be affected by your user priveleges."
..I wasnt doing this previously but have now done so and the result is the same.

My gut feeling is that it has to be related to the DNN installation in some way but I dont know what to try.
because I first visited all of my portals and installed the module on all pages (with no view restrictions an no UA code) I then worked through a list of my domains and set up each domain "Web Profile" in my GA account and as you would expect the message said that "Tracking not installed" as the UA number hadnt been set on the modules yet.

I then added the UA code provided to the modules on the domain I had just set up and returned to the GA account and checked the status.
This is when it either worked or didnt depending on the DNN installation.
So from this I have basically eliminated the GA tracking side from being the problem.
I have checked the page source code for each domain and all are identicle (appart from the UA code).
If it is the DNN installation that is to blame then I am at a loss as what to do.

The dnn installation that doesnt work has a number of domains all of which do not work, here are 2 of the urls from that installation - www.worcestercityfc.co.uk & www.wcfcst.co.uk. This was originally installed at DNN ver 04.06.02 upgraded to 04.08.04

The two accounts that work with the GA tracker module are both the original installation at 04.08.02, here is a working url from each www.jamieshore.net & www.wcfcactiongroup.info

All host setting appear to be the same across all installations and I am now stumped as to how to bet around this problem.

Many thanks for your time

Re: Not working on all portals

W/regards to number 1 : by account, I meant 'website setup'  Sometimes it takes time for Google to verify that the code is working and start to collect data.  However, given it's been a couple of days since you first posted, you should have your answer to this one by now.

Thinking further laterally - is there something about that particular site that stops the script from runnning ?  Are there JS errors on the page?  You might want to try looking at the site in a debugger like Firebug or the Microsoft Script debugger.  This might point you in a direction of another JS error on the page which stops any other JS from running.  Just a thought anyway.

Going on from that - I would just go through the process of verifying, then think about removing the module and re-installing again, and re-doing the settings.   I can't think what on earth this would do, but it's always worth it to try the 'reinstall, reboot and redo' method of troubleshooting.
