Bruce, I was reading your articles and instructions re UrlMaster and see it has a switch "force lower case". I'd prefer to have a switch "original case". For instance, I'll name a page "Prairie SeaShell" because the capitalization makes it easier to read. http://oasiscruise.com/Prairie-SeaShell

You can see, I wouldn't want people to think seas hell.

Is there a way to force to original case, so http://oasiscruise.com/prairie-seashell is always http://oasiscruise.com/Prairie-SeaShell and we get the advantages you describe (only 1 copy of page in SE index)?

John - if you don't use the 'force lower case' option, then your Urls will appear in 'original case' - this site doesn't use the force lower case option, because I prefer the look of the mixed case Urls as do you.

The only potential problem is that someone may link to your site using a combination of wrong case, and there's the potential for duplicate content based on two different case versions.  Personally I don't believe this is much of an issue, but the option is in the module because of popular demand.

The problem with redirecting to a 'correct case' is that it's difficult from a programming point of view to compare two Urls and determine if they are the same case.  You have to do this on a character-by-character level which is a bit inefficient.  In comparison - setting everything to lower case or checking if a value is or isn't in lower case is very quick and easy.

I will have a look into it for you but in general I believe that just leaving the Urls as they are (don't use any case forcing) will give you the result you're after.

Bruce - I'm very happy the way things are and just threw this out there, just in case (link from other site). I guess I was thinking string compare. I don't think it's much of an issue. Who knows, 2 yrs from now, it may just be easy to do.
