We have the following set on the option "do a 301 redirect to a single subdomain" - www.canvassystems.com but anytime we type in the URL without the www. it tries to redirect to www.canvassystems.com.canvassystems.com instead.

We want all incomign traffic to be redirected to the www. version of the main domain (this site also has mutliple domain names we are trying to get consolidated into one).

Duh.. nevermind... I answered my own question.  It's for *SUBDOMAINS*.  Once I took the domain out of the value it worked as desired.

Now the greater question... is there anyway to capture *all* incoming traffic and have it redirect with a 301 redirect to the core domain name?

ie: redirect www.something.com and something.com to www.intendeddomain.com?

right now it comes back with a 404 page not found.

Yes, take a look at this page : http://www.ifinity.com.au/Products/KB/Url_Master/topic/301+Redirect+all+requests+to+a+chosen+domain

You will have to setup the domains in IIS so that requesting that domain leads to your dnn app - the above link will show you how to do the rest.
