Hi, I have a happy install with URL Master on a DNN 4.9.5 install and I am trying to upgrade to 5.2.2.

The install completes with out any errors, but then the login button just refeshes the home page - or takes me to the home page if I am on a different page.

My question is as far as URL master is concerned, how do I upgrade DNN? can it be done without even worrying about URL master, or is there a set of steps I need to do with URL master before/after the install? I am not sure if URL master is a part of the problem or not, but I have not found anything about upgrading DNN with url master already installed.

I did upgrade to the latest version URL Master today, and that worked great as far as I could tell -I did this before the DNN upgrade.

I do have other 5.2.2 DNN installs running on the server already, they work great but none have URL Master- and some were upgraded from 4.9.5 without any problem. I am running a dedicated server with win 2008 and sql server 2008.

I have rolled back to 4.9.5 and all is back to normal now, but I will be trying again.

Thanks!

Ron

Ron - it sounds like your upgrade went OK, but the login button was no longer working.  I think that's a separate problem to your upgrade.

To answer your question directly - you can upgrade DNN with Url Master in-place.  If you suspect problems, the best thing to do is to go into the "Friendly Url Settings' page, and click on 'revert to standard provider'.  Then, upgrade DNN. After the upgrade is complete, you can go back into the 'Friendly Url Settings' page and click on 'apply changes' again.

If you do this and the login link is still not working correctly, let me know, and please supply the Url so I can take a look.
