HI

 

We use the url master module on our site and when I tried to switch to non extension since its running IIS7 we got a 404 error, any idea what could be causing this. Since its mentioned that in iis7 there is no need for changes. all urls gave this error

404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Ok, if you get this error then it's generally because the Url wasn't even recognised by DNN and therefore the Url Master software.   I have seen in rare cases where the host has set up the server in such a way that extensionless Urls are not possible at the server level, even though Url Master software does the automatic configuration at the website level.   Please check your hosting setup to see if extensionless urls are possible.

I have the same problem. I use the option extionless url and my webserver is IIS 7. I have clean SEO Friendly url's now, but I'm not able to go into edit mode for a module. Everytime I click on the 'edit content' link of a module, I get a 404 error.

Hope I get this fixed soon because my site is going live within an hour :(

Anthony, can you please check if this problem only affects modules to be edited on the home page?  Can you edit on all other pages except for the home page?

Hi Bruce,

404 errors are gone! Must have had to something with the trial version. After my site went live with it's public url, the url I registered for my host license, I can edit my models again without getting a 404 error.
