Hi, i have a question about the rebuild process. My site allows people to create their own portal. When they do, I am using the page mathing rebuld option to trigger a rebuild. This all seems to be working fine, hence the message below that shows up in the event log.

The problem is that there seems to be a lag between the time the rebuild is triggered and when the page are accessable. If I try to hit a page right after the trigger, I get a 404. If I wait about 7 minutes and hit the exact same url, all is fine. I have several hundred portals. Any thought on how to troubleshoot and fix this?

7 minutes seems like a long time - it should work instantly.  What the trigger rebuild regex does is drop the page cache, so that the next request that comes along forces a rebuild of that page cache before it can complete.  This request will wait until the page index is complete before completing (the first request can take a bit longer, especially if you ahve a lot of portals).

I would check the time between creating the new portal and seeing the host alert : are they the same time?   Also, is this on a webfarm?  Is it possible that you have different in-memory cache objects that take time to spread to other servers?
