The DNN captcha is different from the LanapCaptcha as discussed in this thread.

The DNN captcha can have some problems even without the Url Master module switched on. I would advise making sure it is working before enabling the module just to eliminate any confusion as to the cause of the issues.

Fixed by changing web.config runtime version of asp.net 2 to runtime of 4.0.
