Hi I have been told this is the module to buy, I have already downloaded the trial version and by changing nothing and applying the changes in the host/friendly url. The site failed a restore of the web config fixed the site. However when I go to test the pages in the module redirection result error 404 - not found. I am struggling to find the basic install instructions for this product.

Basic install instructions for 15.1 are available for download here : Url Master install instructions

Not sure why you would be experiencing a 404 error on your site with the default options.  I would need to see the full results to make a diagnosis.  Just check that you have your portal alias(es) set up correctly (you will need site.com for site.com, www.site.com for www.site.com)

If you're still having problems please post the output from the test rewriting function.

Have you tried for any other pages in your site?   Also, can you post the full URl that you are testing so I can see ?
